gearbox problem

Hi ALL,
My name is Joel Buffiet and I have bought a Regal 74 a month ago as a project....there is still quite a bit to do on this vehicle but im sitting with a huge problem...when i put the car in gear the rev's drop and the car wants to stall,if i raise the revs and when it goes into gear it really knocks hard into gear... can some one pleeeeeeeez assist me as i am going off my nut trying to figure this problem out, i was told its not the gearbox, the one oil cooler pipe from the box to the radiator is leaking but not much (can this have an effect on the car wanting to stall when i put it gear? the brakes are also very low

FANIE has told me its a box problem but what in the box

PLEASE HELP ME COS IM GETTING CLOSE TO SELLING THIS BEAUTIFUL CAR IF I CANT SORT THIS OUT

im not on the internet very often so if its not too much to ask please mail or call, it will be MUCH APPRECIATED

Re: gearbox problem

Hi Joel - In my opinion get the box out and have it serviced - or at least get the car to a gearbox specialist - it is difficult to diagnose this error without having the access to the car

Re: gearbox problem

I agree with Fanie as my 78 Chrysler with a V8 318 start to slip. I remove the auto. gearbox and the clutches was burned due to seals that have gone hard. I recon. the box for +/- R.1400 include the oil.
Rassie.
